By the time I was 13, I had my first job. It was at a local library, where I'd spend my days shelving books, helping people find what they were looking for and learning all the while. I got to know so many different types of books: scary stories, funny stories and everything in between. One of the things I loved to do was read the polls that people could vote on at checkout.

People would pick their favorite book or movie and write a little review about why it was great. The more votes something got, the higher up it would be on the list and one of the biggest perks would be that you could "vote" for your own book or movie by writing a review about it (and voting for it). It was always fun to see how people's tastes differed from mine and learn why others liked what they liked.
